■Another friend of mine got an opportunity to display his work at SEMA show.

Khyzyl Saleem(Kyza) who got a spot light as a CG rendering artist when he attend Need For Speed 2015. Kyza gets inspiration from old school motor sports to newest racing car, Japanese car culture, and movies and other cultures.

Between “Unreality and oh wait this might be real”. This balance is very important. If one part was strong, it gets boring.

A part of Kyza’s imagination, Tokyonur collaborated with him for BG. And this very time when I visited the US, Kyza’s E30 displayed at SEMA Show. 

 

■Beyond the reality.

This car proved that sometimes person who are not in the industry who has another industry’s knowledge can create something interesting;..

This catchy wide body seems Just another DTM and TRA-Kyoto’s mashup. However, if you look it carefully, you will see Kyza’s sprits. For example, the temporary license plate doesn’t even tried to be real.

The car its self is there but it feels like it just came out form photoshop, 3DS, and Max.  

I hope he come to Japan someday and experience the culture in person.

まず最初に、Tokyonurのツマラナイ写真とアーティクルではなく、Hoonigan/Larry Chenの宝石のようなスチルとムービーをご覧あれ。

 

■自分が手掛けたクルマをSEMA Showの会場に並べる。そんな夢のような瞬間がまた1人の友人に訪れた。

Khyzyl Saleem(Kyza)のCGレンダリングアーティストとして知名度を爆発的に広めたのはNeed For Speed 2015への参加だ。

Kyzaはオールドスクールなモータースポーツから最新のレーシングカー、そして日本のカスタムカーから多くの影響を受けている。勿論それら以外の映画や様々なカルチャーの要素もあるはずだが、今ここでは自動車の話しに限定しよう。

CGならではの”アンリアルなデザインとしての遊び”、”現実に存在するかもしれない”、という2つの要素をコントロールが大切だ。これはどちらかに偏ってもツマラナイものになってしまう。

そして、そのKyzaのイマジネーションの一部としてTokyonurではBGのコラボレーションというかたちで交友を深めてきた。

今回、TokyonurのUSA渡航タイミングで、Kyzaのレンダリングアートの世界を現実に投影したE30がSEMA Showで披露された。

■現実の世界の向こう側

そのカテゴリーに腰を据えていない、異なる知見を持った人間こそが、オモシロイ物事を生み出す。まさに、そう言えるクルマであった。

DTMとTRA-Kyotoをマッシュアップさせたかのようなワイドボディーばかりに目を奪われるが、細かいディティールに目を向けてみると、実にKyzaらしい遊びが散りばめられている。

日本の仮ナンバー風のライセンスプレートも、あえてホンモノを再現するわけではなく、Photoshopで偽装エディットした状態といえる。

目の前に存在する現実のクルマであるにも関わらず、どこかPhotoshopや3DS Maxで作られた空間のように感じさせる演出だ。

しかし、Kyzaが実際に日本に来てリアルなカーカルチャーを体験したらどのような反応を示すのだろうか？

日本のカーコミュニティーとダイレクトな繋がりを持つ為にも是非とも来日を果たして欲しい。
