Before I make a post of Wekfest overview, I feature these two project cars which didn’t deserve awards but differently showed lots of craftmanship to the audience.
These two cars gave a huge impact at Wekfest 2017 with US Police Cars looks. But this year they gave impact in a different way.lol Ishikawa Body Ishikawa-san and Dopeforest Mori-san both work as professional metal craftmen.
Few days before the event I got a pic from them says “we will show up with these cars”, made me very nervous since Wekfest is one of the fanciest car show these days.
But they sounded confident somehow. I didn’t know why until I saw the cars in person on that day In the morning at the Wekfest they showed up in front of me and blows my mind.
Those cars weren’t just unfinished project cars. They’ve done some work to show too. “Once its build it’s hard to tell how much work it actually took” They said.
This was their theme this year. You could almost call it Metal art. Speedhunters Dino-san called them “Minimalism” Some people worked hard might wouldn’t understand to show up with unfinished car, but this Metal Crafts minimalism surprised spectator in a good way. On the other hand, Ishikawa-san brought a complete car too.
The beautiful black 180SX with natural over fenders and inner over fenders he built for his wife. She drove the 180 in to the show case by herself with her daughter on the passenger seat.
Inazuma works, Ishikawa Body, and Dopreforests’ union Team JAM OZ Sun got an team award.
