Since Ryohei-kun is known for Freee’s Pizza delivery C34 Laurel, that not many people don’t recognize he switch his car to AE86 Levin coupe. Also, he has transferred from Freee’s to Lowbrain a while ago.

His Corolla had been painted with R35 GTR gray by previous owner that is was quiet as a drifting car on track. But he saved painting until he finishes USDM conversion which imported by Bluelabel Auto Engineering.  By the way, there was a funny story.

When Ryohei-kun took AE86 to Body shop Craft after USDM conversion, Kanagawa’s famous paint comedian Okata-san(Craft) and Takahashi-san(Owner of Craft) hated the USDM look and GT mirrors Ryohei kun installed. Okata-san said “There is no way I’m painting this car. Do not bring this unmatched color corolla till you put Levin face back!” But they not only painted but fixed all the dents on his car because deep inside they are really nice and love him.lol *However, Takahashi san took off the GT mirrors and welded the hole, that Ryohei kun had to buy another type of mirrors.lol

Funny fact that Lowbrain team color red isn’t really set, that Yassan uses Ferrari Rosso Corsa, Abeshin-san uses Fire truck red, and Ryohei kun uses R35 GTR Vibrant Red.

Most of the USDM Corolla guys in Japan put Kouki face, but Ryohei kun inspired by ROUGH WORLD Inagaki-san’s Corolla GTS that he picked Zenki face.

 

In the end, here is an annual track event where you can watch LOWBRAIN guys go nuts on track.

“Freee’sのPizza配達人の34ローレル”というイメージが強く、2dr Levinに乗り換えた事すらあまり世の中に知られていなかったりもするRyohei-kun。更に誰にも気付かれていないのが、Freee’sからLowbrainへチーム移籍をしていたりもする。

購入時からR35純正色のグレーにペイントされていたこともあり、ドリ車にしては地味であった。ただ、本人的にはUS LookにするタイミングでLowbrainのチームカラーである赤へのオールペンをするという構想だったようだ。因みに、USDMパーツはBlue Label Auto Engineeringのコンテナ相乗り便にてコストを抑えて輸入された。

そこに至るまでのストーリーが実にRyohei-kunらしく、神奈川を代表する塗装芸人Okata-san(Craft)からは

「なんだあのミラーの付け方！ドアのあの位置に穴開けるかね！絶対に塗ってあげんないんだから！」

「フロント未塗装ツートンのボロUSDM！もうCraft出入り禁止！」

とまぁ愛を込めた酷評の嵐ｗ

でも、そんな事を言いつつも、CraftのShachoがべっこべこのボディーを丁寧に板金しつつ、愛をこめて塗装作業に勤しむOkata-san。

因みにLowbrainのイメージカラーの赤は同じ塗料で統一されているわけではなく実は皆バラバラなのだ。

Yassanの3dr LevinはFerarriのRosso Corsa。

Aveshin-sanのS13は消防自動車(をイメージしたもの)。

そして今回、Ryohei-kunの2dr Levin改めUSDM Corollaは、R35の純正色であるVibrant Redでペイントされた。

因みに、見た目としては美しい後期のUSDMではなく、前期に拘ったのはROUGH WORLDのInagaki-sanのルックスに憧れていたというのもあるようだ。注:こちらは3Dr。

AE86の中でも極めて不人気な、2drのトレノ(US含む)というボディー形状であり、正直私もカッコいいカタチとは思わないが、ドリフトをするUSDM車両は日本では稀であり、キメキメのShow Carというよりは、「Oh! Shit!トレノかと思ったら日本でUSDMルックだよ！」といった日本好きのアメリカ人の趣向が何周か回った仕様なのだろう。

そんな真っ赤で統一されたLowbrainの走りが見れるのがコチラのイベント。

2019年8月25日にスポーツランド山梨にて開催される、もはや夏の恒例行事となった走行会SLY SUMMIT。Lowbrainのアツい走りを期待しちゃうねぇ～(ドリ天風)
